The National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), the National Institute of Physical and Chemical Research (RIKEN), and the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT) established in December last year The "Artificial Intelligence Research and Development Network" (hereinafter referred to as "the network") for the purpose of transmitting integrated and unified information on the research and development of AI (AI) and promoting the exchange of opinions among AI researchers.

Since then, the network has been recruiting members for universities and public research institutions that are actively engaged in research and development related to AI, and has been preparing for a website for the network. And today, we are pleased to inform you that, with the participation of more than 100 members, we have opened the website (ai-japan.go.jp).

In addition, as a special feature of our first integrated and unified information dissemination activity related to research and development of artificial intelligence (AI) in Japan, we have summarized "the countermeasures to COVID-19 disease using AI technologies" by each member university / public research institute and its researchers, so we will announce it on the website as well.

By best using the website, we will continue to work on the integrated and unified information dissemination activity related to the research and development of artificial intelligence (AI) in Japan.
